Convene Hospitality Group Acquires NeueHouse Brand and Premium Manhattan Location

Convene Hospitality Group (CHG) completed a court‑approved asset purchase of NeueHouse’s intellectual property, including the operations of its Madison Square location in Manhattan.

The acquisition follows NeueHouse’s Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing in September 2025, after the company abruptly shuttered all its locations and began liquidating assets. There are no current plans to reopen the Los Angeles locations.

For Convene, the purchase reflects a strategic bet on architecturally significant spaces that can it can reposition for meetings and events.

“We have been inspired by distinctive spaces lately, places that are one-of-a-kind and reflect the history and culture of their communities,” said CHG President and CEO Ryan Simonetti.

Expanding Beyond Traditional Corporate Spaces

NeueHouse Madison Square, designed by architect and designer David Rockwell, includes a penthouse event space, an 80-seat screening room, podcast studio, membership lounges, private office suites, and a members-only restaurant and bar.

The deal also signals Convene’s continued expansion beyond traditional corporate meeting venues toward spaces that blend hospitality, culture, and experience.

In recent years, CHG has steadily diversified its portfolio. In 2023, Convene acquired UK-based etc.venues, which focuses on smaller meetings and corporate training. Last year, the company segmented its brands, with Convene venues targeting large, experiential events and etc.venues serving more functional meeting needs.

CHG has also leaned into landmark properties. Last year, it added The Mallory, an independently branded venue located within New York City’s historic Terminal Warehouse.

In September, Convene opened a 72,000-square-foot venue on the 24th floor of 30 Hudson Yards. It features 10 meeting spaces anchored by a 780-person grand hall, the largest single event space in Convene’s New York City portfolio.

“We’ve been thinking a lot about how spaces shape stories; how the places where we come together form our shared culture, perspective, and human experience,” said Simonetti.

Looking ahead, Convene plans to open a new location this spring at 555 Broadway in New York City’s Scholastic building. The company is also evaluating expansion opportunities in New York, London, and San Francisco, Simonetti said.
